Our classes are taught by experienced professional dance teachers from Latin America with years of New Zealand teaching experience.

Classes are just $5 and in August we are giving away a free Cuervo Tequila Shot or Cuervo Lime Margarita to all students while stocks last... R18.

OUR COURSE GOES BY SCHOOL TERM, THEREFORE 10 WEEKS THIS TERM, IS A BEGINNER AT THE MOMENT 7 TO 8 PM AND WILL BE BEGINNER AND IMPROVER NEXT TERM (7 – 8 AND 8 – 9) MOSLTY CUBAN SALSA AND RUEDA.

FUN, FITNESS AND SOCIALIZING ARE PART OF OUR MAIN GOALS.

These enjoyable Latin steps will help you increase fitness, tighten
tummy, thighs, calves & buttocks, and give you a great workout.

Not Partner dancing, This is an exercise class that is developed
around various Latin steps such as Salsa and Cha, it gradually gets
faster as you get use to the various moves. It’s extremely enjoyable
for those who like dancing but haven’t got a partner. It is also
highly beneficial for men who would like to get use to Latin steps
before they try it with a partner.

The University of Canterbury Dance Club (UCanDance) offers a social
atmosphere in which to learn impressive, fun, yet easy to learn partner dancing. Primarily we offer salsa, modern jive, rueda and merengue lessons, but guest instructors appear throughout the year to introduce members to other dance styles.

Lessons are just $3 for students and $5 for non-students, and are run

New to Viva in 2012, we are hosting Rueda on Friday nights! Rueda is a form of salsa dancing where couples dance in a circle and swap partners, using different moves and steps.
